Just be forewarned the batteries on these newer Hondas are horrible. Not enough CCA. I keep a small battery charger handy and plug it in once a month.
Good luck on your new purchase.

I don't know about Civic battery, my '04 S2000 battery is a small BCI group size 51, there is no room for lager size.

My daughter '14 Accord original battery is BCI group size 51R, but it has room for a larger size 35. The CCA of size 51 is about 450-500 while size 35 has up to 700 CCA.

According to Autozone website, larger size 34R fits '14 Accord and it has 750 CCA.

When time to change battery in Civic you may want to measure the battery tray to see if larger battery with higher CCA can fit.

Sometimes Honda puts a big casting number on the engine block. If you see that number, and type into Google, you will probably find the entire list of those engine specifications. It would probably tell you if it uses GDI, or conventional fuel injection.

Thanks for the info. The 2015 CRV engine is labeled 'Earth Dreams' which might also explain the relatively good fuel economy specs.

The 2015 Civic is definitely PGM-FI.

We picked up the civic last night. What a nice little car. The CVT makes the thing feel like a hybrid... unless you stomp on the gas of course.

Honda is not known for good automatic transmissions and lately i have seen many late model Hondas in my engine shop with bad engine castings.

+1 on the transmissions. That's interesting about the engine castings.

That's a pretty general statement. I'm aware of the Odyssey tranny issues. Do we have specifics of all the affected models/years with faulty transmissions?

How do you get a lifetime warranty from Honda?

If you do a little research on the net, you'll probably see what he's referring to - I think Honda's worst transmission problems are now in the past, especially if fresh fluid is included in the maintenance regimen.

Honda has had PGM-FI since the 80's! That's just what Honda call their Programmable Fuel Injection! IDK if the new 2015 Civic is direct injection for 2015 with the new CVT! I don't read anything that states that it is DI. I am looking though!

The reason Honda named it PGM-FI because developed their own fuel injection and they refused to pay royalty to Bosch patent and trademark EFI.

I agree....

I've owned Honda's for the past 25 years. Never a transmission issue...ever. Not to say that it could happen or has happened to people.

My new Fit is DI as well as a CVT. It is a slight concern to me....as well as being assembled in Mexico.

I put my trust in Honda that they designed the car to be reliable. That, and an extended warranty to 100k miles.

5 months and so far no issues. I hope to say that at 5 years and so on.

Right!
Also during those older years, Honda developed their own anti-lock brakes and called it, ALB(not ABS).
