Did this entire issue just get swept under the rug because the Pats won the SB and the NFL doesn't want to give themselves a black eye?

To Tom Brady it doesn't matter what football he uses. He wins with everything. Under inflated, over inflated, or just right.

Yes.

Yeah, except for those two SBs against NY...

Zip, zilch , nada....

Brady will make it to the Hall of Fame with his accomplishments in New England.

Brady had the lead both times when he left the field.

There is definitely smoke but they are still trying to find the fire so to speak. NO doubt at all in the mind of a person with any common sense the NE balls were tampered with. All the Colts balls were within league rules/spec's( which defeats all these claims that the NE balls were under because of environmental factors - Colts balls kept in exact same conditions were fine ). All except 1 or 2 of the Patriot balls were underinflated and the ones in spec were right on the line and barely in spec.

1 or 2 underinflated balls is no issue but all of them except 1 or 2 being under? Come on that is clear tampering. The coach knew it, the QB knew it, etc... The issue is can the NFL prove it? Probably not.

What amazes me is how readily people want to defend the Patriots or blame the Ref's or the league. The Patriot's have been caught cheating before and it is a simple fact that the coach will push every line there is. Doesn't surprise me that the game balls for NE were underinflated during that game as it was raining and it would give the RB's and receivers for NE a slight advantage holding the ball.

Will the NFL ever be able to prove what happened? Probably not. Should we all think it wasn't done on purpose? Probably not. Once a cheater always a cheater.

Correct. However, all of Brady's SB wins came when he had elite defenses and his losses came when he didn't. One man alone does not win a game. Let's not forget that the wins were all very close too. Not a single blow out in any of his SB Wins. The 1st 2 needed Adam Vinatierri(sp?)to kick long FG's to save him as well.

The ONLY reason NE won this year is because their D was so good with Revis and Browner anchoring the secondary which made all the other D players better.Does NE win this year's SB if they have say the 2007 D? NOT!

Also, let's not forget that NE really deserved to lose the SB this year. They got lucky or Seattle lost the game is a better way to say it then to say Ne won it. Seattle was on the 1 yard line with one of the best RB's in the league, with 30 some seconds to go, and they didn't just pound it in. Just a HUGE, STUPID, and MORONIC decision. They gave the game away throwing in that situation. Especially a slant over the middle like that into all those defenders. If you are going to pass there you throw a high fade to the corner where ONLY the Seattle WR/TE has a chance.

If that moron Pete Carroll had just put the ball in Lynch's hands Seattle would have won baring a long kick return and miracle TD by NE.

Brady is good but he is not God. It takes a lot of luck to win the way he has and a lot of help from your team.

They swept it under the rug until after the SB. What I heard was they concluded that only 1 ball was under inflated. The others were a little low. The balls were filled and checked in a warm building and the cold temps outside caused the pressure to lower. Scientists ran experiments to show that. It was all a bunch of horse manure from the media!

I predicted back in the original thread that this would become a non issue after the SB, and that people would forget and not even care anymore.

No one cares. People have moved on.

It's a good point about the colts footballs, however I think the point you miss is that you don't know what they inflated their balls to. So if they used a higher pressure, they also would have dropped, but would still have been in spec, but if that pats just had them inflated to the minimum, then the drop would have taken them out of spec. The key information you're missing is what was the starting pressure of the pats and colt balls?

Also with regards to the run vs. the pass, there's been a lot of talk about it. There was no guarantee that the run was going to get them in. Remember in the previous play, they were tackled at the 1 yard line and there wasn't that much time left on the clock. If they got stuffed, they would have had to burn the last time out.

It's football, sometimes things work out, sometimes it doesn't. I wouldn't say that they got lucky on that last play. Getting lucky is a blown call by an official, but without knowing the outcome, it was a fair call at the time it was made. The risk to the coach is that it will be considered brilliant if it works and be in the doghouse if it doesn't. As it didn't, he has to take the blame, deserved or not. The whole basics of football is to be somewhat unpredictable, if the play will be a pass or run. If it's always a run, then they load up against the run.

It's obvious you're a Pats fan and you approve of the issue being swept under the rug...

There were actually two reason the Pats won this year 1) the bonehead call of a pass play by SEA from the NE 1 yard line and 2) the Packer's meltdown in the last 5 minutes of the SEA game...had they won that game like they should've, they would've beaten the Brady Bunch in the SB..

You apparently didn't read NEHEMIs post about how all of NEs balls were under inflated except one, and all of Indy's balls were properly inflated, and the balls of both teams were exposed to exactly the same temps and elements...this proves that NEs balls were PURPOSELY deflated...

Dude, the stupidly called pass play by SEA took place on 2nd down. NE was not going to stop Lynch from the 1 yard line on three straight downs...wasn't gonna happen...
