Not bad for a winter run methinks.....Filter was a Fram Ultra XG9688. Miles on car at the time of the change was 74592.

That is a fantastic run! Thanks for sharing. The more 2.4 ThetaII GDi Hyundai UOA i see, where the vehicle is past 20k miles, the less dilution that's present.

How long was the oil in use? Any makeup added? Still a lot of fuel & low flash for a 75k mile car which should be well broken in. I can only guess lots of idling & short trips. Good wear #'s though - thanks for posting.

Did you use an oil additive containing moly?

If not, they have increased the amount of moly in the add pack since the last time PQIA test this. It used to be about 50 or 60 ppm (I think). I used some QSUD 5W30 a few weeks ago and I thought the color looked a little more red than usual.

Nice UOA.

Oops, I did forget to mention the miles on the oil: I put 5258 on the oil. I plan on running Blackstone's recommended 7K, just to see if it can. I do predominantly highway miles, but I do like running a consistent 70-75 with spirited bursts here and there. No oil additives, and I had 1 quart of make-up oil of the same that was put in initially.

Please update us on the results. I have been running QSUD 5w20 and 0w20 for the factory IOLM OCI in my truck which maxs out at 10k/1yr and the last two changes were done a little early at about 8500miles. No blackstone results to verify.

This. I may yet experiment with 5w20 in the winter down here, but sticking with 5w30 for the summer, though I'm sure there's nothing wrong with 5w20 in warmer weather (except for my having to dump completely viable oil lol). I'll definitely be posting another UOA when the time comes, and the 7K is up.

Great Report, I have my mom's 2011 Sonata on the same configuration. (QSUD 5W-30 & XG9688) - I'm glad too see its a good combo.
