20wt vs 20w20

Always wondered the difference. I have seen bottles of both 20wt and a 20w20 but is there a difference?

I use a 10wt in some of the gearboxes but its a non detergent. Never looked close enough at a 20wt to see if its a ND oil too

Last reported citings RE: 20W20 was some old, 1950s motor oil adverts, so I personally do not believe it exists anymore.

20Wt, I would assume it's 20weight monograde (monovisc) grade, and that, I have not seen at all.

Difference? buy some NOS 20Wt or 20Wt20 oil samples from ePrey and then have a lab test them out if you are that interested?

20w-20 must meet 20w cold cranking requirements, while also meeting the KV requirements for an SAE 20. SAE G300 explains it all. As Quest said, good luck actually finding a 20w-20.

grampa used it for years, still have few cases of quaker 20w-20 setting around.
