Yeah, from what I've read, T6 gets beat up pretty quickly in wet sump applications.

I thought the issue was clutch slip.

Yes... oil thins out as a result of getting beat up by the trans. As a result, you end up with an oil that has insufficient viscosity to prevent clutch slipping.

Depends on the application and how stressed the engine is....I would not want to use off the shelf Quaker State green bottle 10w40 in a vintage bike that uses push rods with hot cams like a Triumph Bonnie 750. I would want something with a more stout anti wear package since they are flat tappets.
