Since so many people come to this site to get oil recommendations for engine/vehicle, it seems like we should have a database or search function like amsoil. After all this is stated as the Internet's #1 oil site. Or maybe a Google docs spreadsheet file where people can select what oil, aft,etc that they preferred while owning a vehicle and data could be compiled.

Not good enough. Sure you could. Example: owners man calls for dexos1, yet there are many dexos1 qualified oils, so do I just use any, or do I pick a name brand synthetic in that?
Spec in the owner's manual is only the starting place.
