I'm not from anybody's marketing team, I have Fleetguard & Mobil 1 filters in service now too-cut open an Ultra for yourself & have a look-be sure to wear LEATHER gloves, that mesh will cut!

Anyone have experience with a bypass filter on their car? Do they keep the oil a lighter colour longer? If this is true , it makes sense that a better [finer] oil filter might keep the oil "clean looking" longer.

I have around 4500 miles on my present oil change (08 Subaru Forester with 142K miles). I put on an Ultra filter the other day and will probably go 11K miles on the oil and do a UOA.
Currently using Subaru 5W-30 Subaru Synthetic Oil.
