Hello,

I'm getting ready to change my power steering fluid in my 91 Plymouth acclaim v6 but I'm lost when it comes to what type or brand of PSF to use? The Haynes repair manual recommend using Mopar 4-253 fluid or equivalent, What fluid are you guy's using in a older model Plymouth/Chrysler vehicle? Thank you.

It would be regular power steering fluid.
Their "Amsoil" PSF is synthetic. But you can use any run of the mill power steering fluid.

This is from Amsoil site:

Fluids
Brake Fluid......HB
AMSOIL Brake Fluid DOT-3 (BF3SN) [1]
Power Steering Fluid......PS
Power Steering Fluid (PSFCN) [2]

yup you both beat me to it.. I agree regular power steering fluid.. I made the mistake of changing power steering fluid on a 96 mopar mini van that was very quiet last year and it still makes noise to this day this is one of those times that the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it really fits..

AAP has Valvoline gallons cheaper than anyone around (even compared to store brand.)

I like SuperTech products, but their PSF has stop leak in it. Not too sure what that is and I dont think it meets spec's for my Jeep. Maxlife on the other hand does though.
