5/8 coolant filter?

I have a 2003 Subaru Forester, looking to install a coolant filter inline with the heater core, which from my understanding has a 5/8 hose.

Problem is I'm having trouble finding a clear filter with 5/8 barbs. Any ideas? I'm looking for something clear so I can see what, if anything, I catch

I used a Wix 33003 clear filter but it comes in 5/16

NAPA coolant filter...

Note the filter part numbers...

No need to get this complex, just put it online of heater core, eliminate the "T"'s....

NAPA Filter 4069 is same as 4070, but an inch shorter...

Most newer cars will not really benefit from a cooling system filter. Keep up on the cooling system maint. and you should be good to go. Its a solution looking for a problem.

Agree.

21 years old 370+k miles LS400 doesn't have coolant filter, no problem with hearer core or any part of coolant system. The radiator was changed once about 40-50k miles ago.
