By the time our generation dies out the EPA will make it illegal to even open the hood on your new car to say nothing of owning a dangerous poison like engine oil or antifreeze.

Opening the hood will set off the GPS tracking device that will probably be set to disable the vehicle until a licensed tech and facility can safely correct the violation and cite the owner.

Now I remember why I keep (& maintain) all my OLD cars & trucks...
 
BMW sells an electric vehicle and they strongly discourage the owner from opening the hood or touching anything not in the cockpit. Self service for this vehicle does not exist.
