Hey guys, was cleaning the F150 today and as I was doing the roof I noticed 5-7 spots where the paint had chipped and it had rusted. Its only surface and the largest spot is probably the size of a nail head. What is the best way to reverse this? I've seen some terrible rusted roofs here in Iowa and I don't want it to get any worse then it currently is. Its the only rust on the truck too (as far as I can see) so I want to keep it nice. Thanks!

They sell something like a small marker with glass fibers that will sand small spots. You do not want to make it larger. If you can get it to bare metal then a self etching primer and a topcoat.

You may need to deal with the rust with POR-15 or Eastwood Rust Encapsulator.

Rust has to have oxygen, so anything that seals it should stop it, but being on the roof oil based products wouldn't last long.
