Finally pulled the trigger and just signed the purchase/order agreement.

2015 Ram Tradesman 1500, reg cab 8ft bed. 4x4 with the 6.

Now I have 8 weeks to buff up and sell the Chevy.

Ordering a truck has some nice benefits you can pick the little options that no dealer ever does. I spent $140 for the sliding rear window and $90 for the block heater. Dealers never get those options for lot trucks but they make the ownership experience nicer.

In a truck you always need a slider.Dealers not ordering them is just plain stupid.

Great option choices. I always thought block heaters were smarter than remote starters.

I agree

They are better by far.

I might get one next wintertime for my Echo.

I would pay a premium to NOT get a sliding rear window. Honestly...I would not own a truck with one, unless it was GIVEN to me.

Just curious, how come?

I love having a slider. Never had a single problem with the one in my truck, and I use it frequently when the weather is nice.

Sounds like a nice truck hattares. Can't go wrong with a 4x4 reg cab.

I have never seen a sliding rear window with some kind of lock on it. That would scare me from buying one.

I like how some trucks made the rear window a giant power window, but I think those cost so much money that people lost interest. Also who knows how much it would cost to repair?

When mine is fully latched in the closed position, there's no opening it from the outside without breaking the window.

Because they leak. I have walked away from several trucks because the rear of the cab floor was simply GONE.

Not familiar with Rangers, but I could open the ones GM used in the 90's with a coat hanger.

I miss having one, I always had them on my Mercedes and ran them 2-3 hours in the morning. Instant heat and no long warm up times which wastes fuel.

Enjoy your new truck.

They simply could not find a truck that was close. I didn't want to pay for options I don't want like the more expensive Uconnect or the trailer package, 20in wheels etc.

It seems no one buys simple work trucks anymore, they are all loaded to the hilt.

The price was the same either way, $32k OTD.

A lot of dealers had this truck with the more traditional power train, ie the Hemi with the 6spd, but that's the worst combo Ram offers right now. I wanted the 8spd and the 6 for fuel economy.

^^^^Glad you held out. One of the best things about Ram was the availability of options on an individual basis when I was shopping.

It allowed us to get almost exactly what I wanted. Hope you love yours.

IMO, with the current price of electricity, just using synthetic makes more sense.
