Since the radiator and block are being replaced..

IMO

I'd make an effort to replace the wear items such as Timing Belt, Tensioner, WP, Thermostat, Spark Plugs...

Additional labor should be negligible...

Do we know if this is a "short" block or "long" block? Not sure how Honda supplies engines for this repair.

Yes. No question. These are consumables which require a lot of expensive labor to get at on their own. Best to replace them while the engine is out and apart anyway.

Of course
It wont cost much more and you would really be upset if you got it running and the waterpump went out in a week

Replace the hoses, belts, water pump, tensioners, thermostat, and anything else that it's difficult to get to.

$750 to replace a radiator?

And they did not suggest that you replace the water pump, hoses, thermostat and other wear items?

What's going on?

IMO the definition of a new engine block includes all of the above items.

No dealer worth it's salt would reuse a timing belt & water pump. Hoses maybe but not mechanical components. I'd check just to be sure.

That is like ordering a new short block but dissembling it to reuse your old pistons. It makes no sense.
