Thinking of buying this Truck.

this truck looks like a great deal.

4wd full size for that price new is awesome!

my only hesitation would be if you intend to haul heavy loads as it is v6.

I'd buy that if I had a need for a general purpose work truck. Looks like a fair amount of vehicle for the money.

7,400lbs. towing
2,000lbs. payload

It seems like thats all the money for that truck.
I can only go by what my brother bought. A new Toyota Tundra in the same model year (not almost 2 model years old) V8 4WD, king cab with towing package and really well equipped with bed liner for $28K even.

Nice thing is a V8 with no DI and 4 doors with towing package. Not suggesting you go Toyota but for the sake of comparison its a lot more truck for not too much more money.

It is optioned a little oddly. Not sure why anyone would want a snow plow package on a half ton with a V6....?

And a GM bed net. Really?

A truck optioned like that would still be sitting on the lot here as well.

Looks like someone screwed up when they ordered that truck.
They certainly would have to sweeten the deal to get me to consider it.
I'd probably pass unless they took a lowball offer.

take off 3 grand and its probably an OK deal. still not that stellar.

We have two identical trucks to that at work, except red. The new 4.3 has plenty of power. We average just under 18 mph with them. We are a sub contractor so we work them pretty good. I'm sure you'd get better mileage. I would hit them low and see if they'll work with you.

that's a local dealer to me. Not terrible not great.. about average dealer I guess.

Reg cab 4x4 long bed..

msrp is 28000-30000$

seems like a decent deal they are a no haggle dealer so not sure how much they would drop down.

you would be far better served with a v8 single cab 4x4 about 4-5 years old, much cheaper and more capable. avoid the direct injection, someone posted pictures of the 5.3 recently that were not pretty.

The price seems pretty decent, but a new 2014?
I'm with those who'd offer a low-ball on this truck, like maybe 20K.
You might even get it for that.
If not, the selling dealer will probably back off a bit on their asking.
What are the incentives to a dealer stuck with one of these?
I'm guessing that there must be some.
This guy is also probably anxious to get this thing off of floor plan.
Would be a good truck for a couple of grand less for the right buyer.
Single cabs are pretty much dead in the current market, but the selling dealer already knows this.
This truck almost has to have been a special order.
Wonder what the back story is?

It could also be a situation where GM told them "you will put this truck on your lot if you want this other truck." Either way, I am sure the sales manager hates looking at it.

$24K is a decent deal IMO. I would try to get them to go even lower though because this truck has everything against it...small engine, reg cab, long bed, old stock, crank windows. If the odo still shows 2 miles, that means the farthest this truck has driven in probably a year is on and off the car hauler and around the lot. Nobody has even test driven it...if they did, they brought it right the [censored] back.

These are nice trucks though, and for a new one you will have a hard time doing much better price wise. At some point they will sell it just because it's a truck. It's not like trying to sell a 2 year old new Volt.

It seems like a good deal money wise, but you wont be able to haul may people...and...ITS BLACK! Its going to show swirls and scratches easily, so if your care about that kind of thing *like me* you have been warned

A standard truck like that in 07 (?) Was 11k off the lot. That was the same year as the $6000 sentra. Did the Chevy get better?

No big effort required to sell a new old Volt once gas prices crank back up this summer.
The old Volt will be priced as unobtainium, while the old truck will be priced as dross.
I suspect that the selling dealer is well aware of this.

It's good if you don't tow heavy or haul heavy. Still a bit too much $ for the 4.3L. I v8 will 2 less miles per gallon than the v6.

Looks like a good truck, just missing power windows. I won't have another truck without them, to wide to always reach over and crank!

I don't know why people keep ragging on the new 4.3, its slightly more powerful than last years 4.8 V8!

That truck is a better truck than the older one, its lighter, more powerful, has rear disc brakes, and a 6spd transmission!

The only thing a 2012 version with the V8 will get you is a larger gas bill.

The old adage of always get a V8 in a truck went out the window in the 2014 model year with all the manufactures. Now even the weakest of V6's make almost 300hp, that's more than enough juice for a half ton.
