And trash car wouldn't let him run because the car wasn't available for inspection on time. If it had been Jimmy Johnson you think it would have worked out the same way?

Several NASCAR stars failed to get on track because their cars didn’t pass inspection Friday before the session began to set the field for the Fields of Honor Quiktrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. There were 13 cars that didn’t take a lap, including Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart.

Didn't they get re-inspected but not in time to practice?
Why not give the one car team a little consideration under the circumstances?

The car was recovered after qualifying, so they could not start the race tomorrow.

The whole tech thing was a weird one. The 13 cars that did not take a lap all failed tech inspection. Every car was given a chance to go through tech. Joey Logano's car was the last to go through the first round of tech inspection and he qualified on the pole. The cars that did not turn a lap, but qualified, did so based on owner's points and prior champion's provisional.

I am willing to bet Team Xtreme will get some additional sponsorship from the news. Supposedly LoJack might hop on board.

Hear me...

Has Travis merely been accused by some family protection service of domestic violence?

Has Travis got a "top tier" sponsor?

Has he ever killed someone on a dirt track?

Did he ever fight other drivers in the pits or garages?

Was this theft legit, or was it a inside job?

Instead of following the rules, NASCAR should go on precedent, how were these issues handled in the RECENT past, and why should Travis be disqualified? Travis should be on the track, because NASCAR does not qualify you on skill, but what you do off the NASCAR track makes you the "disqualified driver" only if they don't like you.

...and has he gone thru a divorce that in papers filed by an ex-wife that he had some strange relationships with co workers..?? No

Love the idea of a team going to a cup race with a 2004 ford pulling your car in all your gear what's old is new again

With NASCAR tech inspection has always meant more than the bits and pieces on the car. Some cars get more attention than others because NASCAR is about the business of racing. Later on they actually let the cars go around the track, too.
