China wants to get as many artifacts as possible for their history of the Western World before the politicians figure out how much they're worth and taxes them out of existence.

When many of those cars were built in the 1950's, the tax rate on rich people was far far FAR higher than now. The cars are still in existence. Regulations made them better and safer cars as the years went on too. Of course that's only a fact.
 
They love our cars in Sweden too, especially big ones. Wish I had a Caddy to swap for a female, about 25 or so.
