2013 Ford Explorer XLT w/ 29,200 miles

wanted to tap into my stock of synthetic oil, coulda have easily gone another 4k but started to get that itch.

2003 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab, 4.7 V8, Auto, 4x4
Out: QSGB 5W-30 with top offs of QSGB 5W-30 and 20W-50, Napa Gold 1085 filter.
In: 6 1/2 quarts QS Defy 10W-40 with a Pronto PO4670 filter.


Engine seems smoother and quieter on Defy, and I believe I'll continue to use the 10W-40 in this engine.
 
2011 Mazda CX-7 2.3T

Out: SuperTech 5w-20 (foul smell of fuel & black) w/ ProSelect filter

In: SuperTech 5w-20 and Defense filter.

Oil was in for about 90 days and approx. 8k Kms.

Avg price in big retailers, around $16 per quart. I get it for almost $10 a quart. Oil is expensive here!
I used to put Mobil 1 0W-40 but it is extremely expensive. A few years ago i got it for almost $13 a quart and that's the lowest price i could get. Big retailers had them for $16 a quart back then. I'm pretty sure the price has gone up, probably around $15 a quart at the same place i got it.

I also noticed that the new PurePlus oil is a bit darker than the previous formulation. Not 100% sure though. (I still have an old bottle laying around for top ups, it was a left over from the previous oil change)

Ill start doing my own oil changes on the Audi too. Free maintenance ends in a couple months.
Still need to check if it uses regular filter (Oil filter can) or Element filters and what tools i need to get it out.Also considering doing my own oil changes on the Toyota since it does not have free maintenance and the dealer charges quite a bit.

Today I changed from Amsoil OE and Napa Platinum oil filter -to- Quaker State DEFY and Fram Ultra oil filter.

This in my 97 Honda Civic with 159,336 miles

Never thought I'd go with a Quaker State/FRAM oil change but PQIA and BITOG helped me change my thinking.

This may be the last change for the old girl. PS rack is leaking all over. My mechanic would like to buy it for a back up vehicle...time to begin the search. She runs very well, but given it has spent its entire life in MN (body shows it), it is time to move on in a few months.
