Additives with known MMT

MMT = Methyl Manganese Tricarbonyl. Its an organometallic octane booster that is a good replacement for Tetraethyl Lead. Less toxic, almost as effective, but still poisons catalytic convertors. Also leaves these beautiful yellow/maroon/purple iridescent deposits on exhaust ports, valves, and spark plugs.

It used to be pretty easy to find octane boosters with MMT in parts stores. Super 104+ was one very common one, lots of others too. But its almost gone from the shelves now because of the potential harm to catalysts, plus the fact that its much more expensive than the hydrocarbon octane boosters that are on the shelves by it, and most people don't know the difference.

not sure of the name of the product--but there is one out there at Advance or Zone which claims to restore old fuel to new condition. Clearly states on the label it contains MMT
