Good morning all,

Here is a simple math question, with a wow type answer.
I will show my choice in 'red' / you pick your own numbers.

Choose any 3 different numbers 0-9
Now reverse them and SUBTRACT
Example:
574 (you pick your own numbers)
-475

Equals 099
Now, reverse again and ADD

099
+990

My answer is 1089

Now you pick any 3 numbers and see what answer you get.
Post your answer.

123
-321
= -198

-198
+891
= 693

For this to equal 1089, and it can, you have to stipulate that you take the absolute value of the first operation, in case it's negative.

198
+891
=1089

You have to specify one more thing. If the subtraction gives you a negative number, the number you add has to be negative as well.

I chose 1, 2, 3.

123 - 321 = -198

-198 + -891 = -1089

If I were to add 891 to -198, I'd end up with 693, which I'm pretty sure is not the point.

EDIT: Seems like Hokiefyd had the same idea. :]
