For installation, do you basically just cut one of the cooler lines and re install with pipe clamps?

This sure seems easier and cheaper than a remote filter set up. Ill admit having an XG8A as an ATF filter sounds wonderufl though. Lol.

Yes there is a relief by pass just like a oil filter, And yes remove a small section of the hard line and install filter and two small sections of hose with 4 clamps.
