Jetta with approximately 94,000 miles leaks about 1 to 2 drops of motor oil.
Automatic transmission

The engine cover was removed and did not see any oil at the valve head cover.
No oil leak at oil pan drain bolt.
No oil between the oil pan and engine.

Have read about the vacuum pump being a culprit in most of these cases.

Anyone here have experience with oil leaks with these cars?

Please advise

Ours leaked once when it had a faulty oil filter gasket. None otherwise, sorry..

Guess we better pull the underside cover off and look around

Loosened oil pan bolts? Overtime they the heat cycling can
cause them to loose up just enough to seep a tiny bit of oil.
I would try tightening them to spec (USE A TORQUE WRENCH!) I would also try tightening the valve cover bolts as well even though you say you see no oil have you checked at the corner around the back of the block. Sometimes the valve covers will weep just a tiny bit there and it is hard to see.

I did see some slight seeping of oil on the corner of the valve cover but would that be the cause of all the residue on the underside. Will double check
