I was doing some fine adjusting tonight. I would stand in front of the car and cover one headlight and go back and forth. I always thought the beams were crossed. The left assembly pointed to the right, and right pointed to the left, and there is a focus point and that is where the road is brightest lit.
I think that Hella tried as best as they could to minimize the glare effect by doing the cross beam pattern. The high beams are parallel.
