Penrite are about to release their version of the 0W-16 see product data below.

For your info. I will not be using it.

The timing of release not mentioned.

The PDF states it is proposed to be used in vehicles designed for this viscosity only.

ENVIRO+ HYBRID 0W-16 can be used where fuel economy oils are specified such as in Toyota Prius, Honda Civic and Lexus ES3000h.

ENVIRO+ HYBRID 0W-16 is NOT for use in vehicles not specifically designed to run on SAE 0W-16 engine oils. It cannot be used in diesel engined vehicles or in motorcycles.

Given the reasoning that the watergrade oil-camp spews, will anyone be running this in their 20 grade spec car? WHaT HARM Could IT CAUSE?

This KV100 is in the monograde 20 margin but the HTHS is low.

Note: SAE has defined an overlap of this new grade and the 20 grade; MIN KV of an SAE multigrade 20 has been raised to 6.9cSt.

KV100 for the 16 grade runs from 6.1 to 8.2 with a min HTHS of 2.3, so it's in there.

I dont think I'll be running this grade unless it gets specced for my car, I'm happy with my "watergrade" Mazda oil..

I see you looked for high moly to compensate for your 20 grade? Maybe you are more afraid than you'ld like to admit

That moly is "DIRTY" btw. I am in the ZERO-moly camp THIS week

See that HONDA pcx-004 filter on my Nissan - that's WAY MORE important than oil choice, Im learning - and it needn't be.

Their racing 0W20 was already a 16, with sub 2.6 HTHS

I'm surprised that an Aussie company would produce, and then market an oil this thin, IN OZ, even for vehicles which spec it!! LOL

When I was talking to them about the HTHS for the racing oil, and said it was really a 16, they agreed.

Have had locally made 20s for ages. Ran this in my mower last winter (not cold enough for the grass to die)...didn't like the big end knock that it produced on a hot start
