Today @ 5359 miles, I added 7 ounces of Berrymans Chemtool B-12 to the oil and idled the engine for 20 minutes. I drained the oil and replaced with 3 quarts of Mobil Super 5w-30 and 12 ounces of MMO leaving the Fram filter in place.
I go for a 26 mile trip and dump the oil, DIRTY. After the oil is done draining, I sacrifice one more quart of Mobil Super 5w-30 flush out the pan a bit more. I put the drain plug back in place, put about 5 ounces of MMO in the sump and then proceed to remove the Fram PH3614 filter.
Despite what I was told about the MMO I used on the filter gasket when I installed it fusing it to the engine...I easily removed it without tools with my hand.
I then installed a fresh Motorcraft FL-_400S. Took the drain plug off to let the MMO drain out, plug back in. Wiped up the oil, added 1.5 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20 & 2.5 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30. I put the other .5 quart of PP 5w-20 in the 5w-30 jug. So I have 3 quarts for top-off, then I will do another oil change.
