I got a FH680V 23hp kawasaki that has around 1000hrs on it. Here in Louisiana it gets really hot in summer time. I have always used mobil 10w-30 oil from day one. Will it hurt anything to change oil grades to 15w-40 mobil fleet?

Exactly, why change what already is proven to work so well?

I have a 20hp Kawasaki FD620D with nearly 3000 hours on it.
,
I've run 10w-30 Rotella T for most all of those hours.

You're doing just fine with the 10w-30 that you've been using.

I can't seem to find the recommendation directly from Kawasaki, but this is from the manual for a John Deere 727A zero turn mower, which uses this engine

I use Rotella T6 in the 20HP Kawasaki in my John Deere 425. A 15W-40 HDEO should work great if it's never used in below freezing temps.

Do you use the regular M1 10w-30?

I been thinking of using M1 10w-30 in all my small engines and can't decide on the Regular, EP or HM.

If 10w-30 is working great why change?? If you want something good you might want to look towards Castrol Edge 0w-30 (German Castrol). It is nearly a 40 wt and has good cold cranking viscosity. It has been proven to work very well in OPE especially air cooled.

My first thought, too. However, I'm sure 15W40 would work great also.
