why did you decrease your interval?

looks fantastic to me but an oil that expensive with only 8.8k? I think its too short of an OCI

You car seems to be fairly hard on the oil for even though TBN reduction is not linear, it started at 12.6 (Amsoil specifications) and in 8.8K it is down to 2.88. This would likely not make it to the 15K (severe service) and definitely not to the 25K (normal service) intervals that Amsoil suggests it would.

As compared to other OTC synthetics, Amsoil SSO is more expensive and since it does not appear that you can get the full OC out of it, have you considered using a different version of Amsoil or a different brand of oil? Also, why 10W-30 instead of 5W-30?

what is amsoil ATM?

search seems to show, Signature Series is ATM?

i call it by the product code. it was ATM long before it got the moniker SS

i simply changed it because of timing- good day, cleared garage, etc.

yes, i'm unwrapping my head from years of amsoil use and considering it. i'm getting there. i just do not want to create new headaches. this engine has a existing issue with timing chain noises (tsb 10-18-11).
from prior 5w30 use it burned off. the 10w30 subsides it.

Does that engine specify a 20 grade.

manual says 5w30 (the v8 gets 5w20)

If you like Amsoil, you could go for the XL series of oil which has a 10K OCI. The retail price is about $2.50 per QT cheaper (PC pricing could be more than that) saving you a little money versus SSO.

Dont use SSO, as this used to be the code for signature series 0w30 oil, which is now AZO.

Btw, what filter are you using?
