I purchased a 2008 E-150 van about a year ago. It came with a trailer tow package. I haven't towed anything yet but I am getting a large trailer and I need to find out where the tie in point for the brake controller is. I have pulled the cover off from beneath the steering column but it reveals nothing. There is a 7 pin trailer plug on the back and it has a harness that goes up to the front but don't have a clue where I plug in the actuator. My buddy loaned me his actuator from his 2008 f-150 and I am looking for that plug set up but to no avail.

pretty sure that one is electric not hydraulic.

and it uses a computer to actuate the trailer brakes appropriately.

Wifes F250 Superduty had a plug under the dash to hook up the brake controller. do a search on one of the Ford forums . Does the owners manual have anything on the subject?
