Possible McLaren/Honda 2015 car leak?

At the NAIAS yesterday, I noticed that Honda had an old F1 car, and a display case with some new McLaren/Honda gear, including a backpack with a front-facing shot of an F1 car, with a wire model frame. This wire model clearly shows the car with a front nose very similar to the one Mercedes ran last year. Is it anything to look into? Who knows. Just thought I'd share with those who follow the F1 car launches closely like I do.

I know I might get flamed for this, but I miss the tobacco sponsorships in F1. McLaren having Marlboro or West, Lotus with John Players Special, and Williams having Camel or Rothmans was awesome. I was born in 1983 and in 1st grade I knew every tobacco company thanks to motorsports, and no I do not use their products.

I made a similar statement awhile ago. I have never and will never use any tobacco product, but goodness gracious they made the best ever iconic liveries in motorsports. The only other livery that can touch it is the Martini livery, which may also soon be banned because of silly European regulations

What I found funny though was the liveries in the countries that had banned tobacco adverts while some teams still used them. 'Look Alike' instead of Lucky Strike, 'Kimi' instead of 'West', etc. Also the Kool green/white livery with the gold wheels in Champ Car was outstanding!

The Gulf livery is sexy. I loved when the Penske Indy and ChampCars were a Marlboro pack, especially those years when he had Little Al, Emmo, and Paul Tracy driving for him.

I agree. I do feel sorry for the tobacco companies in that their marketing has just been strangled to nothing. Even the liquor sponsors have issues at certain venues during the season, as you've undoubtedly seen many times.

I'd rather see more automotive related sponsorship, but it obviously depends upon who is willing to pony up the money. The elimination of tobacco sponsorship in F1 made a big stink in Canada at the time, too. Governments at various levels were already limiting tobacco advertising, and it just went further from there. In Canada, tobacco companies aren't even allowed to make donations to motorsports (or other sports, I'm sure), even in an "anonymous" fashion.

Well, I just got a surprise. Look at the side of the rear wing of the new Force India. There's a Quaker State logo. I wager that didn't come cheap.

I have seen some Playboy sponsored cars in DTM and some endurance racing. I personally would not be opposed to that and condoms in racing again. The teams need the money, the companies have it and want to advertise. Plus could you imagine how awesome the garage displays would be??!!??

One of the years I went to Long Beach, I want to say 2001-2002, I got pictures with the Tecate girls, Corona girls, Simple Green girls, Bridgestone girls, plus others. That was awesome and Champ Car with Trans Am was a great show.
