Toyota Corolla oil leak

The 1ZZ-FBE engine 1.8 2007.
I noticed oil at my floor's garage. I raised the car and this is what I see (left side, near exhaust pipes).

Has anyone experienced it? Mechanic says it is leaking from the head gasket but im not that sure. It is like stuff splashed there

. The thing is the pan guard is all wet of oil.
Any advice? Wash it and recheck?

You can put some Tracerline dye in the oil and see exactly where it's leaking from.

Yes wash off all the oil and dirt then drive and inspect.

Degrease, add dye to oil, recheck.

I'd be very surprised if it was a head gasket

So now I got some news.

Spent 1 hour today working on it. That thing is grease. 100% sure. Maybe from a rotating shaft. Anyway the previous owner solved it but left that mark.

Leaking is not from the head gasket nor valve cover gasket. It is right there:

It's the timing chain tensioner O-ring. They leak. Replacing the O-ring should solve it.

Replaced the o-ring today. Seems like theres no leak anymore.
