Shell issues continue in Nigeria

The illegal refining in Nigeria piqued my interest a few weeks ago.

Impoverished tapping into the pipes and refining diesel out of it in disastrous (environmentally) pits and fires.

Interesting to see the breakup of what's negligence on Shell's part versus sabotage or damage caused this way

The black market refiners continue to thrive. Shell can't stop it, so it puts up with it. It's a cost of doing business in a cr_ppy part of the world where corruption and criminality is rampant.

No environmental enforcement, greatly underpaid officials, underfunded police.....Living with little government is always much worse than living with lots of government.

Been there, done that!
