Tearing into the (Saginaw) column on my 92 Bonneville, I find that only one of three of the T-30 headed bolts are, well, there. These are the ones under the turn signal switch ring, and hold the plastic shroud to the guts of the column.

Everywhere on earth just calls them T30, which, yeah, I get that, but how am I matching that up at the hardware store?

Obvious answer is to match what's remaining, but maybe someone knows.

The thread is approx 1/4" coarse thread. It's my understanding there's still SAE inside these ancient columns.

Can you take the lone survivor in there and either try it against nuts of a known pitch or see if they have a gauge there?

I know HD and Lowes both have cards with threaded rods you can test your fastener against.

Google searching is leading to everyone calling them T-30 bolts. Similarly, schematics lead to part numbers that are $12 a bolt.

Probably going to have to haul the remaining part in.

Call off the hounds, it's a 1/4-20, 3/4 in long.

Oddly what looked like the other two holes were never tapped, so the bolts were never lost.
