When did Arco become Top Tier?

not sure but IIRC it only costs 3-5cents a gallon for the additives to be top tier vs min federal govt standard.

Might be a smart move.

I think it is less than that. Closer to 0.009.
 
Arco was known in the good old days for selling no lead premium when everybopdy else was selling leaded. They may have been the first "Top Tier".

The first Top Tier were Quik Trip and Chevron.
 
They became my Top Tier gas when they opened a new station around the corner from my place
