Hello to everyone,

a guy from Holland, who I came across, had told me to post my question on this forum. I had never heard about Bob is the oil guy...but it is said that you people are the specialists regarding oil. I do hope you can give me a hand here. First and for all note that I am not really used to "forum" discussions. Think of me like a virgin but nevertheless I will do my best ....okay here we go.

XENUM VX500 is an advanced oil additive produced by Xenum which is a company not so far away over here in Belgium. It is to be added to regular full-synthetic oil and it utilizes the synergy of two components being micro-ceramic particles and polarized synthetic ester oil. It is said it outperforms all existing technology. The product has been tested by T.U.V Germany and it seems like to do what the manufacturer says it will do. If I am well informed it can be purchased as oil as well so probably mixed upfront. Very expensive oil and used in the race-industry.

I drive a Seat Leon 1,6 TDI and the oil in my car is ELF SOLARIS LLX 5W30 full-synthetic. which is as far as I am concerned standard oil of today which is produced by many manufacturers.
The questions I have are the following :
* will this product effectively increase the quality of my standard oil with all the advantages it promises ?,
* will it harm the engine in the long-term as it should be the opposite ?,
* how about car engine warranty if something might go wrong or would it be foolish to claim that something might go wrong with these kind of additives ?

I have gotten lot's of opinions in my environment but they are founded on what ? So that's why I am here. I want some descent information based on facts and figures and expertise.

Anxiously awaiting your input.

Thank you !

The "reduced engine noises" claim is a new one though, you have to admit. Never seen that one before.

And the claim about reduced CO2 emissions - how does it do that and why would you want it? CO2 is a sign of complete combustion. You might reduce it by increasing the amount of unburned hydrocarbons, or increasing the CO concentration. Neither of which is desirable.

oil additives are irrelevant.
good oil = good performance.

Dont try to make an oil better by addiding stuff to it.

Oils take thousands of man hours to engineer, and if your car needs a better oil, you have to buy a better oil.

You will most likley unbalance the chemicals.

something like MMO is fine if you buy a used car and its filthy but i wouldnt push any oil with 1 qt replaced with mmo for longer than 1k.

just dont do it! walmart prices are pretty cheap. 26 bucks for potentialy 5-10k is not bad at all...

I personaly change oil in short intervals bc to me its cheap insurance. Waste of money? sure... but my car has 120k and it never let me down, i can be sure the engine will be fine that way for a very very long time.

I don't think Wal-Mart has a huge market presence in Belgium.

Noticed an almost all response was - "forget it". A major reason is a perception in mind. In fact, local N/A market is a bit primitive; a modern lubricating products almost extinct; mostly products on a market viscosity modificator or heavy loaded ZDDP.

As exception, of course, some companies with own product but they not in wallmart; or cost $50 per bottle ...

In opposite XENUM who produce a razor edge product.

Xenum is a small company, around 7 peoples, produce approx 3 Million litres of motor oil, including some boutique oil $50/ liter.

Such a small company of course don't do any extensive R/D. all components purchased for chemistry giants; and additives as full package from Lubrizol or Oronite, latest, most complex, most expensive.

And then graphite or ceramic (as boron nitride 0.25 nm) products came from Henkel corporation.

VX500 - most advanced product, due to price 60/bottle it doesn't exist N/A market. Nobody able to tell any valid information. combination of solid Boron nitride and ester oil; technically chemistry inert product.

As the person who use it, you definitely will feel a difference on a better side, guarantee.

as an option you can try Xenum WRX 7.5W40; if dont like to use an additives. (Belgian racing company NGT use it a few last years)

And still most engines with reasonable care will outlast the vehicles body. Whats your point?

"Whats your point?"
Planning to sell the engine in like a new condition. When wheels fell off.

Out of that entire tome you wrote, this is the only substantive statement you made.

I know that makes me want to run out and buy it.

frankly, it overpriced ($70)...
did try once, cant tell how much better comparing to mos2($8); will not buy it again due price; have a feeling ceratec are same;

but pennzoil ultra and ceratec react together in my case; again it possibly my perception but mix became like viscous stretching mix, that scary me and i flush it; mobile 0w40 and ceratec didnt react; and PU + mos2 OK; so i have 2 such combination.

if don't like it flush it - no harm

You can't compare Xenum VX 500 to Liqui Moly Ceratec; The concentration of hBN in VX500 is much higher and the solids are suspended in ester oil against mineral oil in Ceratec. Xenum offers VX 300 as competitor to Ceratec.
