Thanks for sharing. My house started as a Homestead cabin, part of the Small tract act that started in 1938 and went into the 60's or so. I have been trying to find info about the place. Recently historic arials updated there pics to 1952. My house was not here in 52 so it's newer than I was told.

Interesting site.

Back in 1961 or 1962 my dad purchased 16 acres that were next to our ~300. An old gentleman (I knew him as Mr. Shelton) lived on the property in a "cabin" that was about 16'X20'. Two rooms, one was a bedroom and the other was everything else. He had an old coal cook/heating stove, no running water, no electricity and a traditional outhouse. The old fellow passed away and dad purchased the property to expand the farm. I remember helping tear down the shack and outhouse, and it's now nothing more than farmland.

I remember marveling at the simplicity of the life he had, and from time to time still think about the place.

It could have been moved there.
