If you're referring to the Motor Trend (?) engine failures, those may have been from a dealer or someone else using PF48 (e-core) oil filters instead of the correct UPF48R "Ultraguard Gold" filter. The UPF48R has a steel cage instead of e-core and is designed to handle higher oil pressure.

Yes, honest dealerships and mechanics are hard to find. I'm very lucky that my local Chrysler dealer is excellent as is our local Ford dealer. Our local GM dealer does not have the same reputation and neither does our Honda dealer who was fined significantly for dumping used oil in the woods behind their shop

Wow. That's criminal. So much for being responsible stewards of the planet eh.
Did they at least have to pay for the clean up. I hope so.
