Hi

Does anyone here have this tranny? It's in my 2010 Ford Taurus and I am wondering how to drain the fluid out. There are 2 drain plugs, or what appear to be drain plugs, on it. One is lower than the other so I'm assuming that's the one to use but I want to be sure. I've looked all over the web for an answer and cannot find one. Not even on Taurus forums.

I do know this tranny has a lifetime filter, which really sucks. I had ordered one ahead of time and was shocked when I got underneath it and there wasn't a pan to drop. Makes no sense to me. Not Ford's brightest idea IMO.

Thanks

Throt

According to an alleged mechanic named ThePunisher on the link below, the lower most plug is the drain plug while the other one is a port to check pressure. Seems like you need to be careful not to over torque that plug....80 inch lbs. max. Also confirm the correct fluid per model year. I "think' the later models used Mercon LV.

Just parroting what I found....please confirm for yourself.

Also....you posted this in the wrong forum section
