Craftsman toolbox broke

Had it for about 15 years but a few years ago, the handle broke from all the weight. I understand Sears lifetime warranty applies only to handtools and not tool boxes?
Is there a better alternative?

An inexpensive plastic tool box that lasted you 15 years, I'd say it did its job. I'd probably just go buy another one.

You should find some real bargains during the holidays at Sears. But the prices can vary all over the place week to week due to sales. There are also clearance ones.

I have a rolling Craftsman tool cabinet & chest that I bought in 1987 I think. Dusty but good as new.

I would probably try and see if they would replace it. I haven't bought anything from Craftsman since they went to China.

Craftsman "Made in the USA China".

How hard is it to put a new Handel on it?
You could even make it stronger than it was when new.

You would proberbly spend a longer amount of time buying a new one and transferring your tools over.

I would drill the top, or dremel some holes. But a tied rope for a handle would work. Or some type of strap.

Or buy one on sale.

You might be right. I am thinking how to drill a hole in it and stick a rope in it to use as a handle.

You might actually want to check out Plano brand tool boxes. I have a couple like this one, they're relatively inexpensive, durable, and best of all they're made in the USA. I think those Craftsman boxes are made in China.

That's what you get for buying a cheap plastic box. My Craftsman tool box was made in the 80's of metal.
