filesystem check the Russians - they are claiming that they are teaming up with Saudis to hurt Americans, dumping the cheaper to extract oil to hurt producers of a crude with higher break-even point. Irony is that neither Russians nor Saudis learned much about market dynamics for all these years
 
GTL base stock doesn't matter anyway, PAG and POE bases are where it's at

Well, yes, if you have price wars, customers benefit, at least short term, and lose later when there is less competition.

This province in which Clevy and I reside hasn't seen real price wars for about 25 years. There were a couple hiccups when Costco came in with pumps (and there still are), but that's about it. The independents are having little problem competing here, and the rest are the majors. The only time I've ever seen a gas station close up here is when the place is dilapidated enough that repairs and/or upgrades become unfeasible.
