Super interesting. I am not sure if any cars would be sold if this was still the required maintenance schedule. Thanks for sharing this link.

I passed by a 1920's Dodge with a fancy horn on the bumper that required frequent oiling with 20-weight.

For those who followed maintenance to the letter of the law; I wonder how long their vehicles lasted.

Cool find.

That's a lot of maintenance, but the mileage intervals they give suggest some people did what would be a fairly average amount of driving these days. 300 miles a week is a little less than 16K a year. It would be over 100K by 7 years...if one of these cars lasted that long in regular use.

In a funny way it's kind of simple...everything either takes "motor oil" or "cup grease." Not to mention the amounts..."few drops," "thoroughly."

You mean you guys don't do that every day?

unisparker?

Why didn't that name take off?

Unisparker!

That's much more fun than distributor.

and you have to "focus the headlights" by "throwing a coat on one or the other"

Check the site out. The Chalmers manual is just a very small part of the 50,000 pieces there.
