Complaints about the points system go back as far as I can remember. People complained that Darrell Waltrip won the Championship in 1985, even though only had 3 race wins, compared to the spectacular season that Bill Elliot had in winning 11 races.

Don't care who wins/won it, as long as they keep shutting out the TOYota nameplate from taking the whole shebang.

My idealistic thought:
* Go back to the "Winston Cup" points system, the one where the winner could get 185 points.
* Give the winner 400 points.
* Double the points value of a few "major" races, no more than four, e.g. Daytona 500, Coke 600, Fall Bristol, Homestead.

But since no amount of my screaming will make Brian France move a muscle let alone lose the Chase, I'll just go ahead and agree that the Chasers should have a separate points system. Might even make it semi-F1 style.
