Have just finished repainting the Accord's previously silver rear spoiler flat black (Rustoleum aerosol can).

Advice please on best finishing protective treatment.

Thanks!

I've used clear wheel paint to keep rustoleum paints from fading. I've done wheels and the cross pieces on my roof racks and they all seem to be holding up well. The flat texture will kind of come through if you just do one coat of clear.

I've used spray wax on satin/flat black. AquaWax works great. I would do a clear first -- as mentioned above.

Dude, it is a rattle can paint job! You don't wax trailer park paint jobs....LOL

Sorry man couldn't help myself! If you must then try Eagle One Wax as you dry spray wax.

It will fade like mad unless you put some UV protestant on it. I am assuming that you used regular Rustoleum and not the Marine or Automotive variety.

Regular, not Marine or Automotive.

Is UV protestant different from UV catholic?
