First off, Happy (late) Thanksgiving to my fellow BITOG friends!
Why are OEM cartridge filters highly recommended for European applications?
Today I finally got around to changing the oil in the GF's Volvo with the 2.4t. Come to find out, the dealer she had taken it to was using a Polish made Napa ProSelect 27021. For a budget filter, that thing seemed exceptionally stout and full of pleats. What would be the difference between running that and say a Mahle? Both seem to be of great quality and price doesn't bother me..(Plus I just found out AAP sells them for $7.69!
I'm just curious..
(For those of you that remember my other thread and my concern for them not changing the filter, it looks as if they had at least changed it the last time. Sadly the filter had a bit of sludge packed in the pleats near the end caps, but it doesn't look too serious at the moment. I'm hoping the PP should fix that and am glad I caught it when I did.)
