Do they sell that oil locally or did you have to order it?.,,,

12 Can Am Spyder, 998 V Twin. Out, Brad-Penn V2 10w40 (sheared to 30 weight in 3k) and Hi-Flo filters in both engine and trans. In, Mobil Delvac 15w40 (3 quarts) spiked with M1 15w50 Red Cap (1 quart) and genuine Rotax filters. I guess we will see if this holds up a little better over 3k. It should....

2013 Victory Cross Country Tour

Miles on bike 35,007

Miles on oil 5,007

Redline 20w-50 motorcycle oil

Royal Purple oil filter part number 10-2867

Transmission shifts smooth for the entire 5,000 mile oil change interval. Lab reports come back showing the Redline oil does not shear out of grade. The Redline 20w-50 motorcycle oil maintains its viscosity as a 50 weight oil. The Victory Freedom 106 C.I. engine is a shared sump engine/transmission and there is no clutch slippage.

Hey RedVic. . . do you have a lab report coming for that OCI? I'd be interested in seeing it if you do.

I have a report coming for my latest OCI. I'm thinking about a switch to Spectro 20w-40 next time around and doing a comparison. Spectro is claiming that they use PAO / Ester syns in their blend and in their full syn.

As for shifting quality / noise. . . I don't really note any difference across the OCI with Vic oil--it clunks when the oil is new and clunks when the oil is worn out! It does however, shear out of grade.

Sorry but I can't figure out to get a readable copy of the lab reports in these posts so I just copied the results along with the universal averages.

I went with the Redline 10w-40 this time so the next sample will have some of the 20w-50 mixed in with the 10w-40 as you know there is at minimum a half a quart of oil that remains in a Victory due to oil cooler. I like the specs of the Redline 10w-40.

I really like how the Redline has retained its viscosity as Victory's are known to be hard on oil with their gear box design. Factor in the air cooled V-Twin engine and it is easy to understand why a lot of oils do not retain their viscosity.

I also like the robust additive package Redline uses. Pretty much most oils will do the job, but it sure is nice to know that the Redline can withstand the pounding of a full 5,000 mile oil change interval and still maintain its rated viscosity and still have lots of its additive package protecting the engine and transmission.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

From my experience, the qt of heavier stuff will hold you up to 4K, not much over
that. I used that formula in my "11 RT and am using it now on the '14 Rt. Let us
know when you test it.

2014 Triumph Street Triple R

600 mi.

Out - FF Castrol Power RS 10w50 (I think?)

In - Castrol Power RS 10w50 w/ Triumph filter

2013 HD 110th Anniversary CVO Ultra, 19.5k miles.

Engine and Primary: Schaeffer Supreme 7000 (707) 20w-50
Transmission: Schaeffer 75w-90 Gear Oil
filter: HD OEM

OCI every 5k miles. I let the Primary and Tranny go 10k between changes.

2007 Honda shadow Aero 750

Shell Rotella T6 with a Purolater Pureone PL14610.
Ran the oil for 4,070 miles and the engine has 44,000 miles on it.

Sent a sample to the lab and it had sheared to a low 30 wt oil and showed higher than normal copper in the oil.

1987 Honda CBX250H (very similar engine to XL250R, SOHC Radial Four Valve thumper)

Motul 300V out, Rotella T 15W40 in (previous owner used 300V, I can't justify the expense - I can change oil with R/T 6 times for the same cost as 1 300V change). Making the swap now with my storage oil change = poor mans flush.
