Thx, I know it! I found TD at very good price level USD 36 delivered per 4 quarts.

It has been arrived!
Can you tell me something 'NO GO' into my SAAB 9-5 2t SE ECO, please?

It's fine, 2 years old.

Back to the track: Mobil1 0W40 labelled as Fully Synthetic.
Approved oil by SAAB.

Labelled for East and South European countries, made in the EU, address: Antwerp, Belgium.
I bought it from official Exxon-Mobil dealership at Hungary (EU).

That's probably why. If it was purchased in Germany, it would have said "SHC" on the label instead. Same oil, different label, depending on what the local country regulations allow.

(sorry for bringing up old topic but maybe it will be of interest to someone)

I switched from LM 0w30 synthetic to Mobil 1 New Life 0W40 SHC Synthese Technology

but noticed "Synthese Technology" on bottle only after I noticed oil deteriorated faster than previous LM (when I was buying it online picture showed label with "full synthetic" written on it.

here is VOA for Mobil 1 New Life 0W40 SHC Synthese Technology (bought in Croatia)

Thx for sharing this!
It's a good oil, great add pack and works fine in my turbocharged SAAB 9-5.
What car/engine do you intend to use in?

How you mean "deteriorated" faster?
Considering fuel in HR, you should not have any issues with oil.

Can you provide a picture of the bottle?

I checked and the Mobil 1 0W40 I have in my stash (most recent dated around may 15) still say "fully synthetic"

It´s labeld SHC not fully synthetic, at least here in Germany.

It is a blend of group III HC and Group IV full synthetik oils AFAIK, this was discussed here in the froum extensive before.

In Germany Mobil's lesser range 3000 is branded as HC Synthese. Those should be full hydrocracked oils, a step below M1, and are sold as synthetic in rest of the Europe.

It seems that German M1 site is advertising NL 0w40 as a synthetic oil.

If that's the case it makes sense based on the 50-60% PAO listed in the German MSDS for it.

I'm not much of a German speaker, but in a link above provided by other members they mention synthetic in description of M1 products. SHC doesn't necessarily mean it's a hydrocracked oil, it's just a M1 term.

If we look at Mobil Super 3000 range, a fully synthetic oils in other markets, they are specific about marketing them as HC in Germany, without any mention of synthetic part.

Also IIRC M1 changed its German site regarding M1 description, don't think they've mentioned synthetic in previous form. I could be wrong though.

I just had a look at the "new-life"-website. They do not mention "synthetic" a single time. "extremely well performing base oils" or "high value base oils" are the words they use...

That would make sense. After all, if they intend to use more than one formulation that might alter base stock content, why be hamstrung by German labelling laws? Get rid of the synthetic reference altogether. Then, you don't have to play with labelling or websites when the formulation changes.
