IE Problem

When I close a sub-site by using the redX in the upper right corner, I get a PopUp stating "IE has stopped working" and a green bar advances across the field. Then it states, " The problem has caused the program to stop working correctly" "Windows will close & notify you if a solution is available" I close the PopUp and all is well and IE runs as if nothing was wrong. I did go to tools>IE options and see nothing appears to be incorrect. I have run Malwarebyts and MacAfee and nothing was found.
Any suggestions? Thank you. Ed Hayes

What version of IE are you using? I don't use IE on my home computers. I prefer Google Chrome.

Sounds like a virus to me. Every time it happens it is spreading.

Sounds like malware. Re-scan in Safe Mode.

Better choice of words than my post. I also meant to say that IE IS the problem.
