2003 Ford Escape Rear bearing replace

I need to replace a rear wheel bearing on my daughters Escape. I am wondering if I have to remove the rear swing arm to press the bearing out, or can the bearing just be pressed out with a bearing removal tool with the swing arm in place?

Looks like a real PITA job from what I see of the design...
