Most powerful Android phone for sale in Canada?

I m looking to upgrade my old HTC Desire 601 that has a cracked but still usable screen. I m looking to buy the phone outright so I won t be on a contract. I want to get the most powerful Android phone currently on the market but I don t know which phone that would be.

I tried asking this over on Yahoo Answers but all I got was one spammy response

Nexus will be googles flagship hands down 100% of the time. That's not to say they will neglect other popular brands but they want to promote thier own brand. As long as Nexus products are around you can bet a large majority of testing will be performed on nexus devices.

And since Motorola makes the new Nexus 6 I will definitely be considering it next year.

The nice thing about HTC is 90 day promise for new software
Beside the HTC Google play edition - is always next in line.

I love Nexus 6 but it's a phablet not phone ... But OP might have need for this.
