The Restore didn't seem to do much to quiet it, so my uncle kept driving it despite the noise. Today, the engine blew. I don't know what happened exactly; I'll find out soon though. The 4.0 only had about 170k miles on it.

Guess it was more than a lifter.
Ouch.
My engine has ticked for a little over 2 years now. Since changing from M1 TDT/ M1 filter to PYB/ Mopar filter it has been much quieter.. A slight tick on start up and within the first few minutes of use. It always goes away once to temperature.

I have heard that liquimoly mos2 quiets that problem.
So does throwing a rod through the block, apparently.
