hello,
I have a 2 hp honda 4 cycle air cooled outboard for my porta bote.
It worked fine few months back, I took it out last weekend and at half throttle motor runs great,
as I go higher the rpms slow down and at full throttle it start to dog and even feels like it will die.
heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp, this is my first outboard, and I have no clue...

How old is the fuel?

If fuel is new/fresh, could be debris in the carburetor, plugged fuel filter, plugged gas cap vent, etc.

I had a similar problem with an old Force 50 hp. It was fixed with a new coil. YMMV.

Yep, I'd say coil too if it was a twin (or more) cyl 2-stroke. I've been down that road a few times before, where it's running gutless on one cylinder.

I wouldn't think this little 4-stroke air cooled single cyl would even start w/ a bad coil... but you never know!
