I love this time change

Wait. I do that now. Oh, well . . .

Yes, theoretically it's supposed to save some energy. Since the days (relative to my schedule, and that of most working people) are "longer" during DST -- i.e., there's more light after the work day ends -- more hot sunlight is falling on your home, and so your A/C will run more. This is supposed to save energy? How's that again?

+1000 on the cooler weather. I have a hard time getting anything done outside in the summer months here. It gets so humid I can hardly breathe and 5 minutes into any outdoor project I am covered with sweat and can't see for the sweat burning in my eyes and covering my eyeglasses. Working in the garage is better, it is shaded and I can use a fan so it is somewhat cooler but I still keep a sweat towel handy.

I love Florida but really hate the blistering heat and high humidity in the dog days of summer here. The lower power bills in the winter are great, they are usually about half the amount of a bill from July through September. We are enjoying this little cold snap and blue sky today. For us the time change is a fair trade-off for cooler weather.

Here, here! I always celebrate when the Sun enters the southern hemisphere. It means the brutal heat of Tx Summer is fading in the rear-view mirror. Further, I wish Texas would join Arizona and scuttle DST. We're too close to the equator and it's still daylight and above 90°F after 10pm CDT. That's nuts!

I really need to move further North....

Yep. I need to live North from May until Sept. As for DST's persistence, you can thank the idiot politicians for that one.

This.
Dark and cold!!!

This is standard time and I wish we could just keep it and dispense with the vestigial "time change."

Have to admit, after complaining about it, the last couple mornings I have noticed myself moving faster in the morn. Is it from the extra light? Perhaps.

Why is that? If we kept it in the summer it would still be light later into the day.
